Code of Professional Conduct
Last updated: 9/22/2026
This code applies to every trainer, student and certified graduate of Dr. S. Pujah Academy. Acceptance of it is a condition of certification, of listing in our practitioner directory, and of the internship pathway.
1. Integrity and honesty
- Represent your qualifications accurately. Name only the courses you have actually completed and passed.
- Never imply medical qualification, registration or licensure you do not hold.
- Advertise honestly. Do not promise cures, guaranteed outcomes or diagnostic ability.
2. Scope of practice
- Work only within the areas you are trained in, and refer beyond them.
- Do not diagnose illness, prescribe medication, or advise a client to stop prescribed treatment.
- Refer to a qualified medical or mental-health professional whenever a client presents clinical symptoms or risk.
3. Consent
- Explain what a session involves, its limits and its cost before it begins.
- Obtain clear consent — and separate consent for any physical contact. Consent may be withdrawn at any moment.
- Never work with a minor without written consent from a parent or guardian, who should be present.
4. Confidentiality and data
- Keep client records secure, accurate and private; share them only with consent or where law requires.
- Do not use client names, photographs, case notes or testimonials without written permission.
- Case studies submitted for the internship pathway must be anonymised unless written consent is supplied.
5. Boundaries
- Maintain clear professional boundaries. Romantic or sexual relationships with clients are prohibited.
- Do not exploit a client financially, emotionally or through undue influence or dependency.
- Do not practise while impaired by alcohol, drugs or illness.
6. Respect and non-discrimination
Treat every client and colleague with respect regardless of race, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or belief. Harassment or discrimination of any kind results in removal of certification and directory listing.
7. Insurance and legal compliance
Practising graduates must hold valid professional indemnity and public liability insurance and comply with the laws and licensing requirements of the country in which they practise.
8. Continuing development
Keep your learning current, seek mentorship or supervision where appropriate, and reflect on your practice honestly.
9. Academy responsibilities
The Academy commits to competent trainers, accurate course information, safe learning environments, fair assessment, and prompt handling of concerns.
10. Breaches
Suspected breaches are investigated under our Complaints Handling Policy. Sanctions range from a written warning and required remedial training to suspension, withdrawal of certification, removal from the practitioner directory, and notification of our accrediting bodies. Report a concern to spujahgrow@gmail.com.
